New from Littelfuse
TTape™ Distributed Temperature Monitoring for Lithium-Ion Battery Packs
Lithium-ion battery packs demand precise and proactive thermal monitoring to ensure safe operation and prevent premature cell degradation. Traditional sensors, such as NTC thermistors, often fall short in accuracy, responsiveness, and scalability — especially in multi-cell configurations.
TTape™ by Littelfuse offers an innovative solution, enabling up to 50 distributed temperature sensing points across a battery pack — for example, one sensor per cell. This eliminates the complexity of bulky wire harnesses and avoids the need for complicated programming.
Utilizing a simple two-wire interface, TTape™ instantly identifies any cell that exceeds three critical temperature thresholds:
- 58 °C (warning)
- 75 °C (critical)
- 120 °C (shutdown/emergency)
